Page 24 in The Box
Below is a page from the play "The Box". A box shows up at your front door with no label, would you open it? See what happens when a small town is faced with an ancient spirit. And of course, it's in the future, where there are robot shops and repair shops.

Nun Sofa: Something must be happening, something soon.
Nun Terra: For now let us go and pray, Mother. (exits with Mother Kyna)
Choir: ♬ Deus defandat! Extenta manu dei, redemptor omnium! God, protect us! Outstretched hand of God, save us all! ♬ (exits with blackout)
Scene Four:
Narrator: A fair warning to you, the audience. This scene is a scene of the future, just in case you get confused later. I myself have a tissue box, backstage, waiting for me. (exits)
Nun Junie: ♪ The same song repeats in my mind, cutting my heart from inside. Around you it will never show, it’s curse is your fatal blow. I know you mean no harm, but this pattern is numb and cold. ♪ (exits)
Nick: Why are you sad?
Thomas: The Theater is closed, also the Cafe shop, the Repair and Sell Robot shops, and the Church are closing. The government has taken the whole town down.
Nick: Why, How, Who?!? What is happening?!?
Thomas: (through sobbs) I know, Nick I know. This town is being removed from every map possible. Starting tomorrow, they’ll be tearing down the Church.
Nick: What do you mean by that?
Thomas: I mean we have to find new everything, Nick. New job, new house, new city. I mean everything!
Nick: But why?
Thomas: It was something about a box and corruption, I don't know. It’s government talk, what are we going to do, this place is my life….
Nick: (screams and jumps to show waking up) Oh thank God. It was a bad dream.
Thomas: Nick! You're on five! (exits)
Nick: It’s showtime, my audience awaits. (exits and blackout)
Narrator: Okay, that was sad. I am glad that was all just a bad dream. We are now headed for a basic and classic downward nosedive. Like always, just a warning, to you. (exits)
