After laughing, they agreed to my idea for staying the night. A to F were close in weight, while G was the smallest in the group. We napped with them, they were so soft and warm. Mike woke me and asked to talk in the parked rover.
“Look, with Sam and Clark gone… I don’t know if John is ready for what’s next. We both know the next thing is going to the Main Tower, which is at least two weeks for this outpost.” Mike was watching the window facing the doors.
“John wasn’t before, but they are now. Pain changes people, we both know that.” I reset the chess board.
Mike had a point, Main Tower could be two weeks out or more. Main Tower is Headquarters for Headquarters, also where Mind Kinships are taken to. Like this outpost, there are places where Agents rotate every six months. This place stopped being in use 20 years ago, at least by the records I found. Mike noted that it could have changed after needing a breeding place for the Glowies. John came with a pale look on his face, they pointed to the door behind them.
Following, both I and Mike were armed in case. Through the broken medical sealed door, partly burnt eggs close to the normal Glowies were covering the floor. The walls showed signs for multiple burnings, they didn’t have time to do it right. We buried them outside the hole, leaving rocks as a marker for it. Why killed unborn Glowies? What happens from them leaving in a rush?
The song for Glowies in grief, echoed as more heard and sung along as all cried as one. After a few minutes, the song was over and they piled up to sleep. We were crying with them, no one could not cry hearing their song. We slept close to them that night, I could only note that the doctors had to choose which life to keep. The Glowies or themselves, John found evidence that Concil Agents had orders to get rid of the whole project. Even some doctors were killed by the gravemarkers Mike found on the other wall for the hole.
It was time to head out, our seven pack became a 14 pack. More Glowies have joined ours, which was interesting. Somehow they could communicate to each other about what we’re doing. A and B battled Glowies that would try to take over the pack, but A and B would win every time. The best way to explain Glowy fights, is to reference how male lions fight for head pack leader. They would square off, flashing stripes or dots (depending on the Glowy).
