R-rated Dream
This dream contains sexual assault. Please read with caution and awareness.

When I started writing sci-fi true crime, I thought it would affect my dreams. Now that my second book in this series is more violent, my dreams are more graphic. Last night was the peak of this new type of dream, at least for me. I was at a party, but I normally don’t go to parties. I was talking to people, but I can’t remember what they looked like. I noticed an attractive guy watching me from across the room.
In reality, I have the most handsome person in the universe. I was drinking water, but I had to drink the punch when I ran out of water. I had to sit down after two sips of the punch, but it was also after midnight, so I could be exhausted. I don’t remember what happened after that. I woke up tied down to a bed, each limb tied to a bedpost. I was fully clothed still, but I could hear two guys debating what to do with me.
I was able to get one leg free before they stormed in and tried to knock me out. One held me down while the other tried to take my clothes off. At this point, my mind blurred out their evil deed of raping me. They each take their time and their turn. I woke up feeling disgusting and dirty. I remind myself that it was a dream and that I am safe with my sweet love.
These types of dreams make life more difficult, but I know that I can lean on my love for support. Living through childhood abuse and sexual abuse has impacted my daily life. I will meditate and think on what is good in life, like my love and my artwork.
