Haunted House

I wonder how many people have been inside true haunted houses. The ones where stuff random hits you and the lights go out at random. Real panopticon activity is rare, but very difficult to narrow down. I was outside a huge mansion, just after the sun had set. The house was four stories tall, and it had ten rooms with eight bathrooms. I was reading this information from a blueprint in my hands.

I took out my flashlight and the keys to the front door. I was terrified, but I had to see what was inside. The steps on the porch were old and creaking under my feet. The door was worn and aged with time, without taking care of the print job. The doorknob was rusted, and it fell off when I went to put the key in. The door squeaked as it opened up, and the air was cold inside.

I hear a young child asking for help, which was coming from one of three dark hallways ahead. I didn’t know which one; it sounded like there was a child down each one. Picking the hallway on the left, the flashlight didn’t light up enough of the hallway. I could see a few feet in front of me, but it was dark the rest of the way. I slowly stepped down the hall, eventually reaching the first bedroom. The door had a broken lock and chain on it.

I had a strong feeling to walk away, so I carefully walked away. I was freezing as I went down the dark hall. I heard something open behind me, then a high-pitched scream. I drop to the ground, watching a ghost fly overhead. I jumped up and ran for the front door, but it was locked. I ran down the right hallway, searching for an open door.

The first two doors were locked, and the screaming was getting closer. When I found the unlocked room, I completely forgot about what else could be hiding in this house. I locked myself in a room filled with vampire coffins, and I was on my period. I am grateful that I woke up back in reality. I was very relieved it was just a dream.
