The glowing man
I will try to put every detail down, as best as possible. I woke up at a desk, my desk by the looks, I was inside an NCIS building. I jumped up and grabbed a folder I had in near me and ran up to them. We were filled in on a missing marine, which was done to turn over huge amounts of information on a larger case. The marine was last seen walking into an abandoned factory near the port nearby. The images of the factory made it look like ten factories could fit inside of it.
We drew straws to see who would go to the factory in the first group. I drew a short straw, and my stomach turned into a knot. As I put on my gear, I could hear my co-worker make fun of me like I used to be bullied as a kid. I still don’t understand why we judge each other so much. On our way there, I decided to get out early and look around the surrounding area. I needed to clear my head and see if people were living nearby.
My team was impatient and went inside, I could hear them on the radio system. They were confused about how the lights worked on one side and didn’t work on the other side. This factory produced steel and steel rails for trains. They found the steel forge in the back, and we thought it would be solid steel in there. But their screams for sweet mercy told me that something kept the steel red hot. The screams ended painfully like they were being burned alive, it was ungodly.
I went to the entrance, there was no other way to find out what happened to my team. I carefully opened the double doors and closed them behind me. Half of the lights were on through the open rusty floor. It’s like everyone left mid-day and never came back to finish or clean up. The lights were working in this order in all twelve rows: on, off, on, off, on, off, on, off, on, off, on, off, on, off. As I got close to the forge, I couldn’t see anything related to what I heard minutes before.
There should be a pile of molten metal somewhere, even a small pile that partly covered the team. Then I noticed a glow coming from inside the huge bowl that would pour molten steel into forms. I ran back up to the main floor, keeping on eyes on the now-moving bowl. It rocked back of forth, then swung forward to lunch metal directly at me in a straight line. I jumped at the last second, barely missing it. Then I watched as it fully tipped over, pouring out a river of steel.
A man made of black matter stepped out of the forge, there was no feature just the shape of a man. This glowing man walked past me, the wheat was blinding. I turned back to see that the man was gone, but the forge was now stuck in the tipped position. No one back at NCIS believed me, they all think I killed the whole team. I was placed in a mental hospital and ignored, as the news channel showed the panic for the glowing man as he destroyed the world with each step he took. I had the cold feeling that I was going to be the only survivor, and then I woke up all sweaty and exhausted.
