Faded mask ball

The last time I was in a masked party, I was about twelve or thirteen. Now, a decade later, this party reflected the progress of time. The walls, once perfect, are now aged and worn. The shining title is now muted and dull. There used to be a huge crowd of people dancing all around, but it is silent and lonely now. Broken masks and custom jewels covered some parts of the floor.
Even the staircase was worn with age and time. The gold was coming off, and the steps were dirty. The lights had an age to them; some had cobwebs and dust. The double doors to the large ballroom were chained and locked. I remember the beautiful ceiling and walls covered in mirrors. I tried to pick the lock, but that didn’t work.
There was a film I watched as a kid that reminds me of this dream. It is sad to see that this place is in ruins. I thought dreams would remain the same over time. After a few minutes, I just sat down and closed my eyes. I opened them back in reality, still feeling sad and lonely.
