{We left the office and headed for the guarded elevator. Once I showed my UC badge, they let us through to the crime scene. On the other side, I saw my cousins in the first balcony. By how they were standing and making observations, there was definitely a full grown adult body. I made my way over to them, but I had to show my badge again to get by the UC officers on scene. Once at the balcony I could tell it was Kane from court; they were watching from the back during the hearing today.}
{Kane was separated at each joint, each arm and leg were next to the rest of the body. Kane didn’t stand a chance against whatever attacked him, their groan was a bloody mangled mess. In one of their hands was a flashdrive, so that was bagged with the rest. Once the drive is processed we might find out why Kane ended up like this. Kane’s pager and phone was heavily damaged, but we have our ways of fixing broken technology. The Judges informed us that court would be moved to later in the week, due to the crime scene.}
{It’s long after midnight, and my body is begging for sleep. I barely made it up to the elevator inside my dorm. I was too tired to get out of clothes, so I collapsed onto my bed. I was walking through a black, endless void. I could hear someone crying like a small, sad child. I tried to single out where the crying was coming from.}
{Each step I took, the sound would move a step back. So I took a few steps to the left while going up at a diagonal angle. The sound didn’t move, so I slowly moved closer and closer. I had my hands out, trying to feel for anything in the darkest. I touched something wet and squishy, and the crying stopped. A low hum like a car engine running low made me very nervous.}
{I took a half step back, and the crying started again. I have no clue about what I found here. So, I had to trust my gut that I could get out of here by helping whoever this was. Once my hands made contact, the crying stopped again. There was more of a purr-like humming, so I think this is an animal of some kind. I gained the courage to ask the being if it could speak.}
{The purring stopped, and I felt panic set in. I told this being that it didn’t need to do anything then just stay right there. The purring was softer and lower; then I heard snoring, as if it had fallen asleep. I gently let go and stepped back; there was no crying this time. I woke up before my alarms and felt rested for once in a while. I layed there for a while, then chose to go back to sleep.}
{I could hear snoring in the distance inside this black void. As I got closer, I remembered the snoring matched the snoring from last night. Then an ear-piercing scream made me jump a few feet. I was run over by a huge blog-like being, and I was knocked down. There were chirps and clicks between a few beings, like they were talking to each other. Then I was grabbed, tied up, and carried on top of something’s head.}
